 Among other available energy resources, natural gas is a kind of energy resource, whose usage areas and goals are quite extensive, and which is becoming widespread quickly in our country. Parallel to the developments in the world, there is also a tendency toward the clean energy resources in our country. Natural gas has increased its strategic importance in respect of know-how, technical infrastructure and reserves as compared with other clean energy resources which are at the development stage.To secure supply-demand within natural gas chain, which is extending from resource to final user, to increase new technologies used and R&D investments, pricing policies resulting from international arguments and legal regulations focused on liberal market, which the countries form for their own, are very important.
In the same manner, operating an intercity natural gas distribution network is an activity which aims at maximum security, technical knowledge, qualified personnel and maximum customer satisfaction, and requires a 24 hour uninterrupted service. While performing the operational activities, capability for using logistical supports like appropriate materials and equipment, coordination, communication, mapping, statistical data analysis in the most efficient way and flexible network structure are the most important elements of uninterrupted and safe service aimed. This process is also quite related to economy, trade, business administration and law.
Management of such a complicated system requires a profound natural gas experience and established institutional culture. Natural gas distribution sector, which has been developing in recent years in both our country and in international area, urges to exchange knowledge, to cooperate in areas such as increasing educational facilities, looking for solutions for common problems, following technological developments closely and performing by gathering natural gas companies operating. INGAS International Natural Gas Symposium, which we organized in 2005 and 2007, has been a big step toward closing a gap in this area.
Third INGAS International Natural Gas Symposium, which we will organize in 2009 will make important contributions to the sector's common demands and will light on the investments and projects of the natural gas in the future too.
